Parking Meter card

Just went to the new SF Muni website:
http://www.sfmta.com

where you can now buy FastPasses and those funky parking meter cards. I mean, I feel like I'm living in 1997 all over again, i mean you can actually buy shit online and have it sent to your house. Who woulda thunk it. Talk about forward-thinking municipalities.

Well, at least I can have one of those parking meter cards now instead of having to stockpile change. I'm still impressed with my own idea of having some sort of proximity sensor that can just read/charge money from a FastTrak doodad that we use to speed up bridge toll payment. I mean, why not...park, have the meter charge your FastTrak account for the time spent.

I guess it would rob the city of too much parking ticket revenue.

Last rant though is that you can only buy the sfmuni FastPasses from the 10th through the 22nd!?!

I mean...wtf? It's not like I have to deal with international postage.

If they're going to do that kind of thing, why not just let me subscribe to it and mail/charge me automatically. At least give me the option.
